Drafted in November 1968; Active duty January 1969 to September 1972:  private to Sergeant E-5; Promoted to 2^nd Lieutenant January 1970, Released from the USMC in September 1983 at the rank of Captain 0-3 

Vietnam service as an advisor with 1^st ANGLICO (Air Naval Gunfire Liaison Company) in 1972, served as areal observer and forward observer for naval gunfire, artillery and tactical air support
